Blood orange polenta cake Hallo Fatze With a heart of salami

When we started this haphazard blog, we lived in a small flat in Düsseldorf, Germany, with wooden floors and high ceilings, plotting sumptuous feasts for two. As I write this now, we are on a very wee farm in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, while we figure out what to do next. We love bread-baking, sausage-making, wine-tasting, brew-sampling, garden-picking, dumpling-folding and observing cats.

We once befriended a stray cat named Fatze, who slept in our flower pots. That’s him up there – he would sit there on the balcony, glaring into the kitchen while we cook! You can visit us too for (almost) weekly* updates, as we seek to live up to the name we anointed ourselves with.

*the goal is to post weekly, but heck, maybe one day – life is full of stuff. And you know, the chaos.
